一、课程简介

字体设计课程是视觉传达设计专业核心课、必修课，是探讨文字的造型理论与视觉规律的设计基础课程，是一门集合中外文字理论和文字设计实践进行整体的学习和研究的课程。通过本课程的学习，了解中西方文字的历史演变和发展以及中西方文字设计的基本知识，认识不同文字的个性和属性；掌握字体设计的基本表现手法，使用各种手段和工具（包括电子计算机）来创造新的文字形态和新的文字关系；在设计应用中掌握平面设计的基本功，合理地运用文字来传达设计理念与情感，最终将字体运用到现代视觉设计领域和现代印刷设计中去。字体设计课程是视觉传达设计专业重要的专业基础课程之一，不仅是艺术类院校艺术设计专业的学生必须掌握的基础，同时也是众多设计师的基本功。

Font design course is the core course and compulsory course of visual communication design specialty. It is a basic design course to explore the modeling theory and visual law of characters. It is a course that integrates Chinese and foreign character theory and character design practice for overall learning and research. Through the study of this course, understand the historical evolution and development of Chinese and Western characters and the basic knowledge of Chinese and Western character design, and understand the personality and attributes of different characters; Master the basic expression methods of font design, and use various means and tools (including computers) to create new text forms and new text relationships; Master the basic skills of graphic design in design application, reasonably use words to convey design ideas and emotions, and finally apply fonts to the field of modern visual design and modern printing design. Font design course is one of the important professional basic courses of visual communication design specialty. 在设计应用中掌握平面设计的基本功，合理地运用文字来传达设计理念与情感，最终将字体进行应用拓展、综合应用到现代视觉设计领域和现代印刷设计中去。

在项目执行的过程中，学生能充分了解字体设计到实际应用的流程与方法，且能强化创意思维、设计实践能力。
